SEN Outreach Tutor (Buckinghamshire)

ABOUT THE ROLE
Prospero Teaching is seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Outreach Tutor to provide tailored, 1:1 educational support to children and young people across Buckinghamshire who are currently without a school placement.

This rewarding role is ideal for a qualified teacher or tutor looking to step away from the traditional classroom setting and make a meaningful difference by delivering personalised education packages that re-engage learners who have often been out of education for extended periods.

You will be helping to rebuild confidence, structure, and a love of learning in children with a wide range of special educational needs (SEN), including those with EHCPs, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties, and other barriers to mainstream education.

You will be supported by Prospero's dedicated team, who will work alongside you to monitor progress and ensure the best possible outcomes for each young person.

ROLE DETAILS
- Location: Across Buckinghamshire (various locations depending on pupil needs)
- Position: SEN Outreach Tutor
- Type of Work: 1:1 tutoring for pupils out of school
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: Ongoing - dependent on individual pupil needs
- Contract Type: Temporary (with long-term opportunities)
- Working Hours: Flexible - typically between 1 to 3 hours per session, full-time and part-time availability considered
- Hourly Rate: From £25 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)

REQUIREMENTS
- QTS / QTLS / PGCE / EYFS or a recognised teaching qualification
- Minimum 6 months' experience teaching or tutoring in UK educational settings
- Experience working with children with SEN, EHCPs or additional learning needs
- Up-to-date Safeguarding training (Prospero can provide this if needed)
- Excellent behaviour management and the ability to build trust with disengaged learners
- Strong planning and adaptability skills to create engaging, differentiated learning materials

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply for one through Prospero)
- Two recent and relevant professional references (within the past 2 years)

WHAT WE OFFER
- A rewarding opportunity to help shape the future of a young person's education
- Ongoing CPD including accredited Safeguarding and Behaviour Management training
- Full support from Prospero's SEN and Outreach team
- Flexible work to suit your schedule and location
- Opportunities for long-term or permanent placements for the right candidate

HOW TO APPLY
If you're passionate about making a real difference to vulnerable learners across Buckinghamshire and meet the criteria, please send your most up-to-date CV to be considered. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
