Junior Sister / Charge Nurse – Medical Acute Dependency Unit (MADU)
Frimley Park Hospital

We are pleased to offer an exciting development opportunity for a motivated and experienced registered nurse to join our busy and dynamic Medical Acute Dependency Unit (MADU) as a Junior Sister/Charge Nurse.

MADU is a 12-bedded unit providing Level 1 and Level 2 care for acutely unwell medical patients. The unit is equipped with full cardiac monitoring and non-invasive ventilation (NIV) capabilities. Our multidisciplinary team delivers high-quality care to patients presenting with a wide range of complex conditions, including:

Type 1 and Type 2 respiratory failure

Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA)

Gastrointestinal bleeding

Heart failure

Severe electrolyte imbalances

Central and arterial line management

We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate nurse who is ready to take the next step in their career. The ideal candidate will be:

A dynamic individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Experienced in Respiratory, Acute Medical, HDU, or ITU settings

Confident in leading and supporting teams, with some previous managerial or team leadership experience

Passionate about delivering high standards of care to acutely ill medical patients

In partnership with senior multi professional colleagues, maintain and develop a flexible high dependency service that is able to respond to trust requirements.

To be responsible for the development and leadership of the clinical nursing team to ensure the highest standard of care is met in line with local and national recommendations.

To take leadership of the responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care within the nursing team on a shift-to-shift basis, responding in an advisory capacity to acute changes in patient condition.

To act as a credible clinical role model promoting a patient-centred approach to care, demonstrating advanced clinical practice skills and theoretical knowledge in caring for the complex needs of the critically ill patient.
