Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant – Who We’re Looking For:

We’re seeking a graduate who: Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

• Holds a 2:1 degree or above in Psychology, Education, Child Development, or a related field
• Has relevant experience supporting individuals with special educational needs – this could be through a school, care setting, youth work, or volunteering
• Shows empathy, emotional maturity, and adaptability when working in varied and sometimes challenging situations
• Communicates clearly and builds positive, trusting relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
• Is aiming to pursue a career in teaching, SEN education, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, or educational psychology

What You’ll Do – Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

As part of the school’s SEN support team, you will:

• Provide tailored 1:1 and group support for pupils with complex needs, including those with non-verbal communication or sensory processing differences
• Help adapt learning materials and activities to meet individual Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets
• Support with emotional regulation techniques, positive behaviour strategies, and structured routines
• Work closely with class teachers, therapists, and the SENCo to deliver consistent, holistic support
• Celebrate every small success and help pupils develop confidence, resilience, and independence
