As a Retail Assistant Manager, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our shop, supporting the Manager in all aspects of the business. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting the Store Manager in the day-to-day running of the shop.
Supervising and motivating a small team of retail assistants.
Ensuring high standards of customer service are consistently met.
Managing stock levels, including ordering, deliveries, and merchandising.
Handling cash and card transactions accurately and securely.
Maintaining a clean, organised, and visually appealing shop floor.
Ensuring compliance with all licensing laws and age verification policies.
Assisting with staff training and development.
Opening and closing the store as required.
Addressing customer queries and resolving issues efficiently.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Previous experience in a retail environment, ideally within an off-license or similar sector.
Proven supervisory or assistant management experience.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
A strong understanding of stock control and merchandising.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good numerical and IT skills.
A responsible and trustworthy attitude.
Knowledge of licensing laws and age verification procedures is highly desirable.
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
