Working Hours: 37 hours per week

About the Role
Wrexham County Borough Council’s Adults Social Care group is seeking a highly motivated and organised Care Broker to join our vibrant Commissioning & Contracts team on a short-term basis.
As a vital link between social work teams, finance, and external care providers, you'll play a key role in ensuring that individuals in Wrexham receive the care they need—whether it's domiciliary, residential, day care, supported living or third-sector support.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and broker tailored care packages for adults and children living in their own homes or tenancies.
Liaise daily with internal teams and independent care providers.
Source and verify information from regulatory bodies and local authorities.
Maintain accurate records and manage care plan processing in a timely manner.
Monitor service provision and contribute to the improvement of the mixed economy of care in Wrexham.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration and/or Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
Strong communication, negotiation and organisational skills
Excellent IT literacy, including spreadsheet proficiency
Experience working under pressure in a busy office environment
Professionalism when dealing with diverse stakeholders
Ability to balance firm decision-making with empathetic understanding of service users’ needs
Desirable:
Familiarity with Social Services systems or financial processes
Understanding of relevant legislation (e.g. Social Services and Wellbeing Act Wales)
