Summary
Line Technician / Milling who has a strong desire to learn and is familiar with working on production lines and FMCG / Food manufacturing environments is required for the Milling Line of a well-established company based in Selby, North Yorkshire.
FULL TRAINING PROVIDED – Although training is provided in Milling, you will need an eye for detail, the ability to follow instructions and processes accurately to ensure quality control is maintained and a willingness to learn new skills, including how to operate the machinery.
SALARY: £34,133 per annum + Benefits
LOCATION: Selby, North Yorkshire (YO8) – 100% Site Based
JOB TYPE: Full Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS: This is initially a day-based role, Monday to Friday and then when fully trained you will be on a rotating 24/7 shift pattern

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Line Technician / Milling who has a strong desire to learn and is familiar with working on production lines and FMCG / Food manufacturing environments.
Working as the Line Technician / Milling you will learn to lead by example, championing Health & Safety and Food Safety to ensure high standards are maintained.
As the Line Technician / Milling you will be responsible for ensuring all production plans are followed and executed efficiently, while providing shift cover for other millers and mill cleaners as needed to help maintain smooth operations.
You will have the opportunity to shadow one of the experienced Millers and gain invaluable insights from their decades of expertise in Milling.
DUTIES
Your duties as the Line Technician / Milling include:
• Be champion of both H&S and Food Safety
• Be champion of Sustainability
• Understand Yield performance
• Ensure that Mill production plans are in place to achieve Conformance to Plan
• Manage Rice Lot number changes so that Silos are checked as empty, supporting the Mass Balance process
• Provide shift cover for other Millers/Mill cleaner, as and when required
• Manage crop change in coordination with key stakeholders
• Use KPI’s to drive Performance Improvement
• Ensure that the Mill cleaning schedule is adhered to
• Support Asset Care plans
• Facilitate a culture of team working across the site
• Good Manufacturing practices are embedded and a daily routine, with a focus on root cause analysis and actions
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
• Good knowledge of all relevant company policy and procedures including H&S / Quality / Food Safety / HR
• Good working knowledge of DSEAR regulations
• Continuous improvement tools and techniques e.g. Value Stream Mapping, 5s, Kan Ban, SMED
• Products and processes on site
• Strong Customer Focus
• Team Relationship Building
• Problem solving
• Food hygiene
• A strong desire to learn
• The ability to pick up, maintain, and utilise information effectively
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
