About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and committed professional to join our dedicated team as a Programme leader in Social Work (Adult). This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Social Worker with experience in adult social care who is passionate about shaping the future of the profession. You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning, inspiring and mentoring the next generation of social workers.

In this role, the successful candidate will deliver engaging and evidence-informed teaching in adult social work to undergraduate students, ensuring students are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary for effective practice. You will develop innovative curricula that remains responsive to contemporary practice, policy developments, and emerging research.

A key aspect of the position involves supporting students through academic tutoring, supervision, and the preparation and review of professional placements. Furthermore, you will actively contribute to the broader academic community through meaningful engagement in research, scholarship, and practice-based initiatives that enhance the discipline and inspire ongoing learning.

About the person

You will hold a recognised qualification in Social Work and maintain current registration with Social Work England, ensuring you meet professional standards and are equipped to lead by example.

Your background will reflect demonstrable experience in adult social work practice, ideally acquired across a diverse range of settings, enabling you to bring a rich, real-world perspective to your teaching.

Resilient and highly motivated, you will be unwavering in your dedication to excellence in higher education, approaching your role with both rigour and passion.

Above all, you will carry a deep sense of responsibility and an evident enthusiasm for shaping the next generation of social workers who are ethical, capable, and driven by compassion.
