Liverpool City Council is seeking a diligent and detail-focused Section 106 Project Officer to play a key role in driving forward planning and infrastructure outcomes across our vibrant and evolving city.
This is a business-critical post within the City Development team—ideal for someone with strong organisational skills, analytical ability, and a passion for ensuring developments deliver real community value.
About the Role
You’ll be responsible for coordinating and managing financial contributions from planning obligations (Section 106 agreements), ensuring funds are accurately tracked, allocated, and spent in line with legal and strategic priorities. Your work will directly support infrastructure delivery, affordable housing, and vital public amenities across Liverpool.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and manage Section 106 agreements and financial contributions
Liaise with developers, planning officers, legal teams, and service areas to track compliance and trigger payments
Ensure accurate record-keeping, reporting, and financial forecasting
Prepare briefing notes and reports for senior officers and elected members
Contribute to the review and improvement of monitoring systems and processes
Support wider planning strategy and policy implementation
