Summary
Neway is looking for a Cleansing Operative to join our client based with Somerset Council.
Location: Oxford Street Depot, Burnham-on-Sea
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours/week (Mon–Fri, 6:00am–2:30pm)
Contract: Temporary (21 July – 31 October 2025)
Pay: £12.45/hr PAYE | £16.44/hr Umbrella =
Join Somerset Council’s dedicated Street Cleaning Team and help enhance the local environment for the community of Burnham-on-Sea. We're looking for a reliable and hands-on Cleansing Operative to temporarily cover a team absence. If you take pride in practical work and enjoy being outdoors, this role could be a perfect fit.
Key Responsibilities
Litter picking, sweeping, fly tip removal, bin emptying, and toilet cleaning
Operating vehicles, tools, and machinery safely and effectively
Reporting on work completed and any health and safety concerns
Maintaining accurate records such as timesheets and vehicle checks
What We’re Looking For
Full UK driving licence (essential)
Ability to report to Burnham-on-Sea depot by 6:00am (essential)
Experience in hands-on or physical roles desirable
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Self-motivated, flexible, and committed to high standards
Additional Information
No DBS required
Must provide valid driving licence & proof of business car insurance
This role involves working outdoors in all weather conditions
