Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented HWRC Operative (Grade 03) in Building Services & Maintenance to join our dynamic team. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining the effective operation of our Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC), ensuring that waste is processed efficiently and responsibly. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all visitors, assisting them with waste disposal inquiries and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. You will be responsible for the daily maintenance of the site, ensuring that it is clean, well-organized, and operating at optimal capacity. Your ability to work both independently and as part of a team will be essential, as you will collaborate with colleagues to implement improvements and maintain standards. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to environmental sustainability. Responsibilities
Assist customers in properly disposing of waste and recycling materials at the HWRC.
Ensure the HWRC site is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and organization.
Monitor and manage the waste and recycling containers to prevent overflow and contamination.
Conduct regular inspections of the site to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards.
Adhere to all health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all staff and the public.
Provide guidance on the proper segregation of waste materials for recycling purposes.
Support the implementation of policies and initiatives to promote environmental sustainability within the facility.
Requirements
Experience in a similar role or within waste management operations is preferred.
Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations related to waste disposal.
Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently when required.
Physically fit and able to perform manual handling tasks and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems as they arise.
Basic knowledge of recycling practices and waste management systems.

End Time: 16:00
Pay Per Hour: £12.85
