Summary

Position: Childminder Assistant
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the registered childminder in providing a safe, nurturing environment for children.
Engage children in age-appropriate activities and learning experiences to support their development.
Comply with the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Childcare Register.
Maintain a clean, healthy environment by following established hygiene procedures.
Conduct risk assessments to ensure children's safety at all times.
Maintain confidentiality of information about staff and children.
Attend ongoing training to support professional development.
Complete documentation related to children's activities, observations, and planning.
Liaise and communicate effectively with parents/carers.
Assist with food preparation, serving meals, and feeding children.
Contribute to the setting's self-evaluation process.
Change diapers/nappies and assist with toileting as needed.
Supervise children during handovers to parents.
Take children on outings, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
Contribute to the development and updating of policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Minimum NVQ Level 2 or CACHE Level 2 qualification in Early Years or Childcare, or willingness to complete Introduction to Home-based Childcare training.
Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework.
Strong English language skills.
Willingness to undergo Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding Children training.
Must undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check for Child Workforce.
Provision of professional references.
