Summary
Job Title: Shift Manager
Location: Dunstable Distribution Centre
Department: Logistics / Supply Chain
Night Shift: 10pm-6am
We are looking for a proactive and results-driven Shift Manager to join our Southern Region Distribution Centre team in Dunstable. In this key leadership role, you will support the Warehouse Operations Manager by overseeing the day-to-day operations and leading Team Leaders across various departments. Your ability to deliver high performance, engage teams, and drive operational efficiencies will help us build a supply chain that truly delights our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead,
coach, and develop Team Leaders and colleagues, ensuring regular
performance reviews and training plans are in place.
Drive
continuous improvement initiatives and identify operational efficiencies
within agreed budgets and timelines.
Foster
collaboration across departments, including Transport, Stores, and Supply
Chain, to deliver optimal distribution performance.
Take
ownership of shift budgets, KPIs, and performance metrics with a strong
commercial mindset.
Champion
health and safety, ensuring compliance and promoting a safe working
environment.
Conduct
site and team briefings, providing strong communication and clear
direction.
Deliver
seamless shift handovers and ensure consistent focus on customer service
and site productivity.
Lead
investigations, disciplinary, grievance, and appeal meetings when
required.
Work flexibility and step up to the role of Operations Manager when needed.
What We’re Looking For:
Proven
senior management experience in a distribution center or similar
fast-paced logistics environment.
Strong
leadership, people management, and relationship-building skills.
Commercially
minded with experience managing budgets and cost controls.
Highly
organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and shifting
priorities.
Excellent
analytical, IT, and decision-making skills.
Strong
communication skills and a commitment to team development and well-being.
