Your new company
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a high-profile Not-For-Profit organisation, joining their busy Stakeholder and Public Relations team on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. You will play a key role in developing the organisation's interaction with politicians, their staff and other stakeholders in the sector, fostering key relationships and providing a clear point of contact to escalate queries.
Your new role
You will lead and deliver the public affairs strategy, through political relationship-building, political briefings, responses to Senedd and Parliamentary enquiries. You will lead on political engagement, delivering agreed messages and priorities within clear frameworks. You will recommend appropriate approaches for effective engagement to raise awareness and strengthen the organisation's reputation. Engagement with senior managers to understand their challenges and identify opportunities to help develop government policy. You will manage the contact database and use this to inform and drive the Public Affairs strategy. You will horizon scan for upcoming developments and activities and maintain a Public Affairs schedule, and manage any external research and reputational surveys commissioned by relevant agencies.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be educated to degree level, or have proven work experience related to Public Affairs. You will have an excellent understanding of the political landscape with proven influencing skills, including the ability to analyse and interpret complex information and frame to resonate with senior political audiences. You will have first-class written and verbal communication skills with strong analytical skills to make strategic risk-based decisions within a large, complex organisation. You will have first-class network-building skills and an excellent record of building rapport and credibility with senior managers, journalists and commentators.
What you'll get in return

This is a twelve-month Fixed Term Contract.
