Summary
Job Title: SEN Lecturer
Location: Hackney
Contract Type: Temporary, Part-Time and Full-Time opportunities available
Hourly Rate: Up to £45 per hour
About the Role:
We are looking for a committed and knowledgeable SEN Lecturer to join our academic team on a temporary contract. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching and support to students with special educational needs, helping them achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver tailored lessons and support for learners with special educational needs
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress and development
- Develop inclusive teaching materials and resources
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and external agencies to meet student needs
- Participate in team meetings, quality assurance, and staff development activities
Requirements:
- Relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs, Education, or related field
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent)
- Experience teaching learners with SEN in a further or higher education setting
- Strong understanding of SEN legislation and inclusive teaching practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to a variety of learner needs
Desirable:
- Experience working in FE/HE sector
- Knowledge of assistive technologies and learning support tools
- Experience with curriculum development and lesson planning
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
