Kitchen Assistant to join our catering team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations, ensuring that food preparation and safety standards are met. This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
The position requires 2 x 10.5 hour shifts per week
Responsibilities
Assist with food preparation tasks, including washing, chopping, and measuring ingredients.
Help maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces.
Follow food safety guidelines to ensure all food is prepared and stored correctly.
Support cooks and chefs during meal preparation by providing necessary ingredients and equipment.
Assist in the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations for service.
Participate in inventory management by helping to receive and store deliveries appropriately.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations during busy periods.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred.
Basic knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques is advantageous.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks as required.
A passion for cooking and the culinary arts is highly desirable.
