Summary

Operations Assistant

Location: Paignton

Hours: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Monday to Friday / Saturday (hours may vary) overtime available

Salary: Depending on experience

Contract: Temporary - August to December

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Operations Assistant to support our busy production and warehouse team in Paignton. This physical role is perfect for someone looking to gain hands-on experience and build leadership skills, making it a great opportunity for a team lead or supervisor wanting to take the next step in their career.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in leading and managing the production and warehouse teams.
  • Book in/out all raw materials and finished goods accurately.
  • Perform continual quality control checks on incoming components and finished products.
  • Maintain all documentation manually and within the Odoo system.
  • Identify and report damaged, lost, or missing merchandise promptly to the Operations Manager.
  • Monitor order progress, stock availability, and delivery schedules.
  • Support the Operations Manager to ensure manufacturing meets tight schedules and high standards.
  • Record and report reject levels and surplus stock for supplier notifications or resale.
  • Fully implement and comply with all company procedures, policies, and audit standards including BRC S&D, ISO9001 & SMETA 2 pillar.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment adhering to legal regulations.
  • Manage KPIs set by the Operations Manager and maintain open communication between employees and management.
  • Work to reduce expenses and increase productivity across product lines.
  • Perform any other relevant duties as required.
Requirements:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (spreadsheets, formulas, and data entry).
  • Computer literate and comfortable using Odoo or similar systems.
  • Physically capable of heavy lifting and moving components.
  • Forklift license advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
