Summary
We are seeking a patient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a team.
In this role, you will support students with special educational needs to access learning and develop their confidence and independence. You will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to help create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment for every child. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a SEN Teaching Assistant:
Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with additional needs.
Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated activities.
Support students with a range of needs, including learning difficulties, autism, social, emotional and mental health needs.
Promote positive behaviour and help students develop social skills.
Monitor and record student progress, feeding back to teachers and parents where appropriate.
Help with personal care if required (depending on student needs).
Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:
Have experience working with children or young people with SEND (desirable but not essential).
Be caring, patient and adaptable.
Have strong communication and teamwork skills as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
Be committed to supporting every child to reach their full potential.
Be reliable and able to use their initiative.
