Summary

We are seeking an experienced and committed SENCO Teacher to join a team and lead the provision for students with special educational needs.

As SENCO, you will play a key role in identifying, supporting and monitoring students with additional needs, ensuring that every child has access to the support they need to thrive. You will work closely with teaching staff, support staff, parents, and external agencies to create an inclusive learning environment for all pupils. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a SENCO Teacher:

  • Lead and manage the provision for students with SEND across the school.

  • Oversee the identification, assessment and review of students with SEND.

  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and ensure they are reviewed regularly.

  • Support and advise teaching and support staff on strategies to meet individual needs.

  • Liaise with parents, carers and external professionals to coordinate support.

  • Ensure that the school’s SEND policy and practices comply with statutory requirements.

  • Deliver staff training and promote inclusive practice across the school.

Ideal SENCO Teacher:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and, ideally, the National Award for SEN Coordination (or be willing to work towards it).

  • Have significant experience supporting students with a range of special educational needs.

  • Demonstrate excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills as a SENCO.

  • Be passionate about inclusion and committed to ensuring positive outcomes for all students.

  • Be able to work collaboratively with staff, parents and outside agencies.
