Summary

You will be part of Scotland’s leading health charity providing support to people at risk of developing or living with our conditions to live life to the full. Our Community Healthcare Support Service provides access to a range of supported self management and community recovery services to support people across Scotland to manage their health as well as possible and adjust to life after a diagnosis of a chest or heart condition or after a stroke. The Health Defence Lead (Grampian & East) is a key role as part of the expansion of our Prevention Services. The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of the Health Defence program within the designated areas as well as contributing to the overall offer across the country. The role includes leading a team of Health Defence Coordinators, based in our hub venues, delivering health checks; healthy lifestyle workshops; working with key partner organisations and supporting lifestyle change to reduce the risk of our conditions in communities where there is a high prevalence of health inequalities and deprivation. The role will involve regular travel to different locations, primarily across Grampian and the East of Scotland, overnight stays on occasion and would suit a flexibly minded and motivated individual who enjoys variety in their working week. The successful candidate will work closely with the existing Health Defence Lead (West based) to optimise our profile and reach through our service offer. The Health Defence Lead will also be expected to support the Deputy Head of Prevention Services with the integration of Health Defence across CHSS while working closely with colleagues across the wider services directorate to enable delivery of our No Life Half Lived strategy.
