We are looking for a part-time Outreach Energy Adviser to join our Energy Outreach Team on a fixed term basis.

You will be working as part of the Energy Team and will receive full training to enable you to provide accurate energy advice to those in the community. As part of the Energy Outreach Project, you will attend venues, such as food banks, in the community to provide effective energy savings tips, information on grants and schemes and income maximisation. You will be working with vulnerable clients, with the aim to improve their current situation to limit the reliance on food banks and other provisions.

Experience is not necessary, but we are looking for someone who:
• Has excellent communication skills
• Can monitor and maintain own standards ensuring work is accurate
• Has worked in a public-facing role
• Is experienced in working with a diverse range of people and providing a welcoming environment for clients
• Is in possession of a full driving licence and use of a car, or otherwise able to fulfil the travel requirements necessary

Full training and support will be given to the successful candidate to enable them to carry out their role

Responsibilities / Key Tasks:
• Interview clients using sensitive listening and questioning skills to allow clients to explain their problem(s) and empower them to set their own priorities
• Assist clients with other related problems where they are an integral part of their case and refer to other advisers or specialist agencies as appropriate
• To maintain confidentiality, use discretion and sound judgement in undertaking all areas of responsibilities

• Location: mainly from home with occasional travel to one of our offices for meetings or client appointments at outreaches across Tamworth and East Staffordshire
• Contract: fixed-term until 31 March 2026
