Summary

Business and Executive Support is a central business support function which is aligned to meet the requirements of Staffordshire County Council and which fulfils the needs of the organisation as it evolves. This role will be primarily working in the Families and Communities team assisting with the Subject Access and Information Sharing Requests.

The work will involve changing demands and will require effective and accurate communication with a wide range of internal and external customers and extensive use of the Microsoft office suite.

Fixed term contract until 31.03.2026.

Main Responsibilities

The post holder would provide support by maintaining records and other duties including filing, photocopying and postal duties, word processing, preparing and distributing paperwork in addition to liaising with customers, contractors and partners.

Flexibility, problem solving skills, listening skills, a confidential approach and the ability to work to tight deadlines are all vital for this role.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for you to,

  • Have excellent communication skills to engage our customers and Administration teams to share best practise using digital solutions where appropriate to improve processes
  • Be interested in the work of the service and services for children and families
  • Be able to work under their own initiative and as a team whilst maintaining a calm approach under pressure
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced, busy environment and to manage changes at short notice, with a flexible approach
  • Have strong IT skills with a knowledge of SCC systems or similar packages for data management
  • Have good administrative organisational skills
