Summary

St Margaret’s Hospice Care has a fantastic opportunity for a Clinical Educator to join their team. This role is based in Taunton. You will join us on a part time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £29,770.72 per annum for 28 hours per week (based on a full-time salary of £39,340).

Working across the whole hospice, you will take the lead in clinical skills education and all other areas of clinical learning.

You will play a vital role in:

Creating a supportive learning environment – Contribute to building a highly skilled workforce, enable learners to become skilled practitioners, and advocate for the best end of life care in Somerset.

Building a skilled workforce - Support clinical staff of all grades and disciplines to achieve their professional objectives, bridging the gap between theory to practice.

Developing the clinical workforce of the future – Take the lead on upskilling staff and ensuring that excellent care is maintained.

Your day to day job will involve:

- Working with clinical teams lead and deliver a programme of clinical skills training
- Planning and delivering training for staff and external health care professionals
- Supporting students on placements across the hospice
- Evaluating learners’ progress and performance
- Actively contributing content to our new learning management system and supporting with its development and maintenance
- Contributing to innovation in learning e.g., development of virtual reality

To be successful in the role you will need to:

- Be a Registered Nurse
- Have significant experience of teaching and education in a health care setting
- Have experience facilitating and delivering high quality training courses
- Be able to understand the broad education context in health care currently
- Be responsive to training and education needs of the organisation and be aware of quality and compliance requirements
- Understand the need for innovation in education and be happy to lead in that space
