The Opportunity

Based in our Business department, you will take responsibility for leading adult programmes, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning, and supporting our students to achieve their goals. You will contribute to the development of new courses and innovative methods of curriculum delivery, playing an active role in shaping the department’s growth.

In this role, you will lead on planning and reviewing the curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of our adult learners. You will develop engaging teaching materials, deliver lessons through a variety of methods, and create effective assessment activities. Monitoring student progress will be key, and you will support our learners through tutorials, guidance, and individual learning plans. Your role will also involve tracking student retention, attendance, and achievement, ensuring positive outcomes across all courses.

Beyond the classroom, you will contribute to marketing and enrolment activities, supporting events such as interviews, assessments, and school promotions. You may also be responsible for line managing staff members who are central to the courses you lead, with support and training provided as needed.

Your role will also include engaging with college-wide quality systems, upholding diversity and safeguarding commitments, and ensuring data is managed securely. You will also develop new courses, either individually or as part of a team, ensuring the curriculum continues to meet the needs of learners and the wider community.

This is a great opportunity to support our adult learners, many of whom are looking to upskill, retrain, or return to learning. Your work will directly contribute to improving lives and opportunities for people in the local community.

About You

We are looking for a dedicated and forward-thinking educator who is passionate about supporting our adult learners in achieving their goals. You will have a strong background in teaching and curriculum development, with experience in delivering engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning needs. Your ability to create high-quality teaching materials and effective assessment strategies will be key to ensuring our students’ success.

You should be highly organised, with the ability to manage course planning, student progress tracking, and curriculum development. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement will help you drive positive outcomes for both students and the department. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will be working closely with learners, colleagues, and external partners to promote and develop the courses.

Ideally, you will have experience in line management or team leadership, or a willingness to take on these responsibilities with appropriate training and support. You should also be confident in using data to inform decision-making, ensuring that courses remain effective and aligned with our students’ needs.

A commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and high educational standards is essential, as is the ability to inspire and motivate adult learners. Whether you are an experienced course leader or an ambitious educator looking to step into a leadership role, this is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the growth of the department and make a meaningful impact on adult education.
