Summary
The Senior Clinical Fellow post is a key role as they fast track patients through their diagnosis and initiate investigations and provide initial management plans for patients presenting with acute surgical issues. The post holder will also triage surgical patients, and this improves the decision making for admission/further referral or ambulatory management in the Surgical Hot Clinic. They will be responsible for managing ward referrals, resus and trauma calls and all paediatric and community GP referrals. The post offers an excellent opportunity to consolidate and build on existing operative and clinical skills in General and emergency surgery and the ideal candidate will be able to undertake research and develop their leadership skills with support of the surgical team. They will have opportunity to get involved in quality improvement projects. We will support the appointee in their career progression.
