Summary
The Bone Marrow Transplant Coordinator is responsible for coordinating patient care across multiple areas outpatient clinics (including specialty clinics), the inpatient nursing unit and the community in order to provide continuity of patient care across settings. Problems following transplant have a significant level of complexity due to both clinical and logistical issues. Independent thinking and a high degree of problem solving and innovation are required to anticipate issues as well as resolve complex and unanticipated problems, applying appropriate interventions to individual patients and patient problems while performing daily tasks. Organisation and prioritisation skills, as well as timely response to emerging issues are critical components of this role. The post is open to candidates who have completed at least three years of a Specialty Training Programme or equivalent. The post is also open to doctors wishing to undertake post-CCT sub-specialty. Soon the department will be able to offer a CESR programme that will be open to candidates. In future and with agreement with Department the selected candidate may have the opportunity to include other duties as Inpatient management; Outpatient management; Clinical research studies
