About the Role
We are seeking a Trainee Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming and high-performing secondary school located in Bradford. Starting September 2025, this full-time position is ideal for aspiring educators or experienced Teaching Assistants ready to take the next step.
As a Trainee Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom to supervise lessons during teacher absences. You will manage behaviour, deliver set work, and ensure students remain on task. Although this is not a teaching role, it is a fantastic opportunity to develop essential teaching skills. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.

Requirements
- Studied in the UK and familiar with the UK national curriculum
- Some previous experience working in a school or classroom setting
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Key Responsibilities
- Supervising whole classes during the absence of teaching staff
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Ensuring students remain on task with their learning
- Distributing and collecting set work for students
- Providing feedback to teaching staff after lessons
- Supporting students who require additional guidance
- Acting as a role model and promoting positive values
- Managing transitions between activities calmly and efficiently
- Following safeguarding protocols and reporting concerns
