Summary
Long term Teaching Assistant position to start immediately with the opportunity to continue for the next academic year.
The school has provision for pupils aged 3-19 years old who have an education, health, and care plan (EHCP) that reflects their special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) due to having severe learning difficulties (SLD) and/ or complex autism.
Experience of working with children is essential but not necessarily in the classroom. If you have personal experience of supporting children with additional needs, perhaps a family member, or perhaps if you have a care background this would be ideal. We are looking for someone who has lots of empathy, a nurturing approach, and a positive and energetic attitude.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting the children throughout the school day, responding appropriately to their individual needs, promoting self-esteem and independence, and ensuring the wellbeing of all children at all times
The school offers a creative curriculum designed to meet the children's individual needs, which includes lots of learning through play, and a very child centred approach.
You will be joining a really lovely team who are all very welcoming and supportive.
