Summary
All general yard duties :
Mucking out / keeping yard clean/ tidy
Leading and handling foals , youngstock, broodmares and stallions
Assisting with vet and farrier
Training
All training provided at the employers premises, with the employer and supported by Haddon Training.Haddon Training will also support any candidates who need to gain passes in maths and/ or English.
Qualifications required
if you haven't already achieved grade 4/C in GCSE maths and/ or English, Haddon Training will support you in getting the grade needed to achieve the equine apprenticeship.
Skills required
Previous experience of handling and caring for horses is required.
Prospects
Progression to the Level 3 Senior Groom / possibility of full time employment .
Qualification / Standard : ST0166 Equine groom
Duration 15 Months
