Are you a research assistant who enjoys working collaboratively? Do you want improve cancer outcomes? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us on our recently funded Yorkshire Cancer Research Pioneers project. The principal aim of this exciting project is to develop novel photodynamic therapy drugs for oral cancer. You will contribute fundamental new insights into how these agents work and their preclinical testing.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of research assistant in Prof. Helen Bryant’s laboratory, at the University of Sheffield. An MSc or equivalent experience in a relevant subject is needed, along with proficiency in a variety of molecular/cellular biology techniques. Experience of mammalian cell culture and fluorescence microscopy are essential, experience of more complex 3D models and in vivo testing is desirable. You should have a keen interest in research focused on drug development and testing and knowledge of cancer biology.
We are an interdisciplinary research team, and you will be integrated within a network of researchers including Clinicians, Biologists and Chemists. Working alongside this diverse group, the role will offer you an opportunity to improve your interdisciplinary research skills.
