Here at Serco we’re looking for a FM Services Officer to join the team at HMP Fosse Way, Category C, male Prison .
Reporting to the Senior Engineer/Facilities Manager, the FM Services Officer forms part of a Works Service Team of multi skilled engineers as well as assisting other trades in their duties as may be required, forming part of a multi skilled team.
As an FM Services Officer, you will need:
- To have the ability to self-motivate, use your own initiative and to work to tight timescales.
- The ability to prioritise workload, working in a logical and methodical manner and be able to communicate effectively at all levels, both in writing and orally (including good telephone manner).
- You will be responsible for carrying out all duties assigned to him/her in a safe manner, observing all statutory regulations and local regulations whilst ensuring that various pre-planned maintenance schedules are kept up to date and maintained as may be required.
- you will be assisting in multi-trade support of other members of the FM team in completing work and other related routine maintenance and repairs but within the capabilities of your ability, experience and training.
- you will be carrying out other duties that may be delegated to you from time to time alongside assisting other members of the maintenance team with their activities as required
- Maintaining records of tools and reports as needed and operating machine tools safely and according to your training of installed equipment within the works service workshops.
- You will also be occasionally escorting contractors around the site as and when required as per written instructions.
What you need to do the role
- Appropriately qualified having served a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent trade-based qualification.
- Flexible and proactive with a commitment to customer satisfaction and continuous improvement to working approach.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Experience in working in a security environment
- To be a team member of the Facilities “Out of hours” call out roster.
- The role is a key supporting function in the challenging environment of a secure establishment.
- The post holder is expected to function with a degree of independence
