About The Team:

SRUC (Scotland's Rural College) is a specialist higher education institution delivering tertiary education, research and consultancy. SRUC's principal purpose is to advance education, science, research, and environmental protection and improvement in rural and land-based industries, both domestically and internationally.

SRUC's Agriculture, Horticulture & Engineering Sciences team works closely with farmers, policymakers, and international partners to ensure the curriculum being delivered is not only fit-for-purpose but also meets the needs of the ever-changing industry.

The Opportunity:

SRUC is seeking an experienced Teaching Instructor in Agriculture to join our dynamic team within the Agriculture, Horticulture & Engineering Sciences department. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator with a strong background in Agriculture to contribute to the development of future leaders in agriculture and environmental sciences. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting students studying at HNC to degree-level courses.

This role will deliver practical instruction to develop the practical skills of students together with staff engaged in education provision based at the Kings Buildings Edinburgh Campus. You will be expected to plan, prepare and engage in inclusive learning experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be educated to a minimum of HND level or have relevant industry experience in a relevant subject, such as; agriculture or animal science along with a strong practical agricultural experience. Good people skills, attention to detail and excellent communication skills are also required. The successful candidate must be able to work both independently, and with other team members, to ensure that accurate results are delivered to agreed deadlines.

This role is not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route. If you are a migrant worker, you will need to ensure you have an appropriate visa to evidence the necessary right to work in the UK.
