Summary
Overview
Due to growth we are seeking a skilled Upholsterer to join our clients team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for craftsmanship and a keen eye for detail. As an Upholsterer, you will be responsible for the restoration and creation of upholstered furniture, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet our customers' expectations. This role requires both creativity and technical skills, as well as the ability to work with various materials and tools.
Duties
- Measure and cut fabric and materials to specifications for upholstery projects.
- Sew upholstery pieces together using industrial sewing machines and hand sewing techniques.
- Assemble and fabricate furniture components, ensuring structural integrity and aesthetic appeal.
- Perform heavy lifting of furniture pieces during the upholstery process.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete tasks.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace in the warehouse environment.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
Skills
- Proficient in sewing techniques, both machine and hand sewing.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role.
- Experience in assembling and fabricating various types of furniture.
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools commonly used in upholstery work.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship.
- Ability to work effectively within a team while also being self-motivated when necessary.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday 8am - 4.15pm (37.5 hours per week)
- Overtime and Saturday work available (paid at time and a half)
