Role Purpose
Galashiels Paton Street Position
The Galashiels Locality Teams (Eildon CYP/Central SCH) are excited to offer an opening for a Business Support Assistant - Grade 4A on a full-time, temporary basis until 30th May 2026. This is an incredible opportunity for someone who is looking for a challenge where no two days are the same. Whether you're currently a Grade 4 looking to broaden your skillset or an MA graduate ready to take the next step in your career, this role is perfect for you. As a Business Support Assistant, you'll be at the heart of the action, providing essential support to both Children's and Adult Services. Your day-to-day tasks will include answering phones, dealing with customer enquiries, recording information on the Mosaic client database, processing Police Concern forms, handling financial transactions for Corporate Appointee clients, and more. You'll also arrange, attend, and take minutes for meetings, playing a key role in guiding staff. You'll be working with a fantastic team of around eight colleagues in a hybrid manner, both from home and the office. This role will allow you to use your existing skills and bring fresh ideas to the team. Some of the valuable skills you'll learn include: • Being the first point of contact with the public. • Managing letters and print to post • Creating spreadsheets • Using the Mosaic client database • Online banking for corporate appointee clients.
Children and Families Duty Team Position
The Children & Families Duty Admin Team are excited to offer an opening for a Business Support Assistant – Grade 4A on a full-time, temporary basis until 28th March 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking for a challenge working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. As a Business Support Assistant, you’ll provide administration support to the Team Leaders, Senior Social Workers, Social Workers and Social Work Assistants in the Children & Families Duty Team and work closely with partner agencies such as Education, Police and Health. Your day-to-day tasks will include answering phones, dealing with customer enquiries, recording information on the Mosaic client database, processing Police Concern forms and inter-agency referrals. You’ll also arrange and minute a variety of meetings. You’ll be working alongside five colleagues and will be office based initially and on completion of training will work in a hybrid manner both from home and in the office.
