Council Tax Officer
Grade 4, £25,584 up to £28,624 per annum pro rata
37 hours per week on a permanent contract

We are looking to appoint a Council Tax Officer to join our Revenues and Benefits Partnership. The Partnership is a Shared Service and comprises the Revenues and Benefits departments from Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council, North West Leicestershire District Council and Harborough District Council. Subject to certain conditions, this exciting role offers varied and interesting work for the successful candidate, as well as the potential to work flexibly from home.

The successful candidate will play a key role in helping our service meet and exceed performance standards whilst delivering excellent customer service. You will be dealing with customers regarding the collection of Council Tax and Housing Benefit overpayments. You must be able to work well as part of a team and also effectively under your own initiative. You will need to monitor and progress unpaid debt, dealing with customers, employers and other agencies to secure payment of unpaid charges. You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with customer focus and the ability to deal with sensitive and challenging situations. A flexible approach with a ‘can do’ attitude is essential. You must be able to use a range of IT software systems including Microsoft Office suite or equivalent.

This position is subject to a basic DBS check.

We operate a ‘hybrid working’ model with a mix of office based, home and remote working available when suitable. The contractual base will be office based with agreed flexibility to work from home or at remote working locations in the borough.
