Summary

6 months at Apprenticeship rate, followed by National Minimum Wage rate (dependent on age) for the remainder of the Apprenticeship.

Mansfield District Council has an exciting opportunity for someone to join their trade repairs team based in Mansfield Woodhouse to gain first-hand experience of day-to-day maintenance tasks whilst undertaking a Property Maintenance Apprenticeship.
You will gain skills across Carpentry/Joinery, Plumbing, Plastering, Brick and block work, External works and associated finishing trades including tiling, painting and decorating.

You will learn and undertake key aspects of ensuring work is carried out to be compliant with health and safety requirements, and meets building safety regulations and legislation, you will get to know and understand the key principles of buildings and their construction, along with the range of building services that support a buildings operation, how to ensure the best use of materials and installation methods to ensure the minimisation of environmental impacts, how to improve a buildings performance and to ensure sustainability and the reduction of disposable materials and improved recycling.

You will work and train alongside operational staff that are fully trained and capable of enhancing your skill sets to make you the best you can be. In addition to this you will learn many new aspects that will help you in your everyday life, ICT skills, communication skills, customer service and team working skills.

This post has a working day finishing at 4:30pm Monday to Thursday and 1pm finish on a Friday, giving you a good work life balance.

The Apprenticeship will be undertaken at West Notts College, commencing in September 2025.
