Summary
This is an excellent chance for a clinician with a keen interest in speech problems to join a well-established specialist service that forms part of a wider specialist network. Working as an independent practitioner alongside colleagues from a range of disciplines, you will assess, diagnose and manage patients (children and adults) who have complex speech problems related to cleft lip and palate and non-cleft velopharyngeal incompetence, both as individual one to one sessions and as part of busy multi-disciplinary clinics. As you can imagine, this presents opportunities to carry out detailed assessments of complex speech problems and deliver therapy. You will also be involved with specialist speech investigation clinics (using videofluoroscopy, nasendoscopy), and assessing children’s speech on the ward post-speech surgery
