Summary

Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Care Home

Location: London
Salary: £31,000 – £37,000 per year
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (including evenings/weekends/on-call)
Contract: Permanent

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Deputy Manager to join a high-quality children’s residential care home. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Team Leader, Senior Support Worker, or current Deputy Manager in children’s services looking for a new challenge.

As Deputy Manager, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the Registered Manager, supervising care staff, and ensuring the home delivers safe, nurturing, and Ofsted-compliant care to young people aged 8–18 with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours.

Key Responsibilities of the Deputy Manager role:

Support the Registered Manager with day-to-day service operations

Lead and supervise a team of residential care workers

Ensure compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted standards

Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour management

Contribute to staff training, rotas, and safeguarding practices

Be part of the on-call and rota management team

Deputy Manager – Skills and Experience Required:

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Residential Childcare (or working towards)

At least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role in a children’s residential setting

Strong knowledge of safeguarding, children’s legislation, and Ofsted frameworks

Excellent communication and leadership abilities

Full UK Driving Licence (preferred)
