Summary
The primary responsibility is to act as a Radiology Cancer Pathway Tracker. This includes monitoring imaging request and report timelines (especially for CT and MRI), highlighting bottlenecks, and facilitating communication between referrers, radiologists, modality leads, and cancer services. The tracker ensures patients on cancer pathways receive timely imaging in line with national targets (e.g. 2WW, 28-day FDS, 62/31-day targets). The jobholder will also ensure radiology-led MDTs are well-organised and effectively run. Tasks include liaising with MDT coordinators to obtain and review patient lists, ensuring correct patient registration on hospital systems, resolving duplicate patient records, and preparing image sets via PACS for MDT review. The role requires autonomous working, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to support consultants and the wider radiology team with secretarial and logistical coordination. The postholder will help maintain high standards of patient care and pathway visibility across the diagnostic journey. The postholder may be required to assist the PACS team with image transfer processes and handling subject access requests, particularly during periods of high demand or reduced staffing, to ensure continuity of service and timely access to imaging.
