Summary
Role
Climate17 are working with an international renewable energy company who build, operate and manage a portfolio of large-scale Solar PV assets across Europe.
They are actively searching for a skilled solar PV Field Service Engineer to carry our planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across their UK portfolio
Responsibilities
- Routine maintenance activities on modules, inverters, cables and connectors, DC and AC distribution boxes
- Routine maintenance activities on module mounting systems, fence and gates, inverter and transformer stations (excluding equipment)
- Routine maintenance activities on monitoring and communication equipment (data logger, routers, sensors, etc.)
- Routine maintenance activities on security system devices (cameras, barriers, etc.)
- Fault finding on electrical components by means of visual inspections or professional site measurement activities (thermal imaging, insulation tester, etc.)
- Visual inspection activities, cleaning and report to management team
- Execute corrective measures to keep the system available
- Engage and manage subcontractors
- Called to perform reactive and corrective maintenance activities as well as, from time to time to manage subcontractors and control quality of activities performed.
- The site technician shall give availability on working from time to time during weekends and bank holidays (as part of a team rota).
Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in electrical installation and maintenance, preferably in industrial or utility-scale environments.
- Proven experience or technical knowledge of three-phase photovoltaic (PV) systems.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
- C&G or NVQ level 3 electrical
- BS 7671 18th edition wiring regulations
- C&G 2391-94/95 test and inspection, or equivalent
- Proficiency in using electrical testing tools
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong communication skills
- Problem-solving mindset
- Team player
- Valid and clean car driving license
