The Opportunity
An opportunity has become available for the successful candidate to join a global Chemical manufacturing business on a temporary basis. You’ll join a friendly team of staff to support in the day to day running of their packing area. This opportunity will give you the chance to get experience working under strict health and safety regulations in a fast paced environment.

Your duties and responsibilities will be

- Responsibility and accountability for the operation and control of Gel making, washing and associated equipment. Ensure optimum operation of several key processes. Ensuring safety quality and volume targets are met.
- Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance procedures and first line breakdown maintenance so that plant downtime is minimised.
- Maintain a safe operation that complies with safety, environmental and Company standards, including auditing, reporting and housekeeping.
- Provide ‘in process’ analytical function to ensure product quality is maintained, utilising physical testing and SPC.
- Process investigation and problem solving utilising IP21 and associated software.
- Effective timely communication across multiple departments and levels of the organisation, both verbally and written. Record accurately all process information issues and variability, passing information accurately with formal shift handover.
- Participate in Improvement Activities, individually and as part of a team working flexibly and proactively within the Warrington site.
- General Housekeeping.

You will have the following qualifications & experience:

- Experience working in fast-paced production or manufacturing environments
- Skilled in packing and labelling finished goods according to company specifications
- Operated or assisted on automated production or packing lines
- Carried out manual handling tasks in line with health and safety regulations
- Proven ability to meet daily production targets and work in team-based environments
- Followed standard operating procedures (SOPs) and reported equipment faults promptly
- Maintained high attention to detail to ensure quality and minimise waste

It’s great if you also have the following

- FLT Licence
- Experience in a Chemical manufacturing environment.

The setting for the role
Risks and hazards are in line with working on a chemical and manufacturing site. These can include chemical burns, trips and falls, overexertion, cuts and scrapes, chemical exposure, inhalation of chemicals, confined spaces, heavy machinery and equipment, electrical hazards, machine guarding, sudden or loud noises, moving vehicles, and working at height. In addition, dust levels on some areas of the site can be high, which may cause respiratory discomfort or other health issues if proper precautions are not taken. Manual handling tasks can also be physically demanding, requiring careful technique and adherence to safe handling practices to prevent injury. A full site induction will be provided, and all safety requirements, including the use of personal protective equipment and safe working procedures, must be strictly adhered to when entering the site.
