Summary

Vehicle Technician – Senior / Diagnostic Technician
Location: Chelmsford
Salary: Up to £49,600 OTE (Basic up to £41,000 + £2,000 EV Qualified Bonus + £6,000 Annual Bonus)
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm | Saturdays on rota 8:00am – 12:30pm

Our client is seeking an experienced Diagnostic Technician to join their high-performing specialist site in Chelmsford. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional looking to join a progressive, well-equipped workshop and take the next step in their automotive career.

As a Vehicle Technician at senior or Diagnostic Technician level, you will work alongside a team of experienced technicians and have access to the latest diagnostic equipment and technical support. You will play a key role in ensuring vehicles are diagnosed and repaired to manufacturer standards, delivering exceptional service to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

- Carry out mechanical and electrical diagnostics using manufacturer-approved diagnostic equipment
- Liaise with the Master Technician on complex fault-finding and repairs
- Collaborate with the manufacturer’s technical support team when required
- Advise service advisors, customers, and manufacturers on further repair needs
- Conduct road testing with customers to accurately identify faults and confirm repairs

What We’re Looking For:

- NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
- Proven experience as a Senior or Diagnostic Technician
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills
- Confident in using diagnostic systems and interpreting fault codes
- Full UK driving licence essential
