Summary

We are looking for a highly capable and motivated Lead Enterprise Architect to join Defence Digital. This role is central to shaping and assuring the architectural direction for key connectivity capabilities, including Networks, Gateways, and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). You will provide strategic oversight and technical leadership across these domains, ensuring that solutions are secure, resilient, scalable, and aligned with broader defence architecture and policy.

Responsibilities

Strategic Responsibilities:

Provide enterprise-level architectural leadership across the Connectivity domain, covering Networks, Gateways, and PKI.
Define and drive the future-state (To-Be) architecture and strategy, ensuring alignment with Defence Digital’s objectives and evolving threat and technology landscapes in accordance with the TOGAF framework.
Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for connectivity services, incorporating modern technologies such as zero-trust architectures, software-defined networking, and cloud-based security solutions.
Act as a senior architectural voice in governance boards, design authorities, and cross-departmental forums, ensuring coherent enterprise-wide connectivity solutions and contribute to strategic planning and investment decisions.

Operational Responsibilities:

Ensure the accurate modelling of current and future architectures using ArchiMate, supporting clear communication and stakeholder engagement.
Work closely with delivery teams to embed architectural direction into programme and project execution, ensuring consistency with strategic intent.
Support technical assurance and design review processes, ensuring compliance with architectural standards and security requirements.
Maintain up-to-date architectural artefacts and documentation, contributing to the overall architecture repository.

Note; In this role you will represent the organisation in high level NATO forums and working groups which will require international travel.
