We have an exciting opportunity for a Medical Engineering Apprentice to join our team on a fixed term basis with the chance of being permanent once the apprenticeship has finished.
The apprenticeship is expected to last 2 years and you will be working towards achieving a Level 4 Diploma. You’re on the job training will be based at the Royal Bolton Hospital site. During your apprenticeship you will be assigned a mentor who will work closely with you to provide all the learning and development support you need to succeed.
The job holder will:
• assist in the provision of basic technical services including equipment installation, repair, maintenance, and calibration
• participate in the local quality management system and comply with its policies, procedures, and instructions
• be aware of the safety aspects of any medical device or related equipment with which they may be involved
• take appropriate action to deal with identified discrepancies including maintaining records and reporting the situation to more senior members of staff
• support effective teamwork by undertaking other technical activities, under direct supervision
• carry out internal resource management tasks such as work equipment maintenance and calibration
The Successful Candidate
We are looking for someone who is a team player with experience or knowledge of using tools and test equipment. The ideal candidate will have the ability to maintain concentration for long periods, often with frequent interruptions and be an effective problem solver with basic logical fault finding skills.
Applicants must have 5 GSCE’s at grade 9-4 (A-C) including English, Maths and Science or equivalent qualifications.
