Duties of Assistant Accountant:

- Accurately code and process invoices, payments, and expenses
- Calculate driver hours from timesheets for payroll processing
- Reconcile cash flow forecasts with daily bank activity, credit cards, and ledgers
- Keep financial records up to date and well-organised
- Support month-end and year-end close
- Help with internal and external audits
- Handle payment and invoicing queries with clients and vendors
- Step in to process weekly payroll when needed
- Manage factored banking and liaise with the factoring company as cover when required

Essential:

- AAT qualified or qualified by experience
- Payroll experience is a must
- Confident using Sage accounting software
- Solid understanding of accounting principles
- Sharp attention to detail and great time management
- Analytical mindset with the ability to make sense of the numbers
- Strong communication skills – both written and spoken
