Summary

Manufacturing Engineer
Location: West Midlands
Salary: £35,000 p.a. DOE
Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 39 hours/week
- Monday-Thursday: 7:15am-4:15pm (30 mins unpaid lunch)
- Friday: 7:15am-12:15pm

Holidays: 25 days annual leave plus your birthday off (after qualifying period).
Note: Some leave to be reserved for Christmas shutdown.

Pension: Enrolment after 3 months of service.

We're working in partnership with a long-established UK manufacturer specialising in high-performance heat exchange technology. With a strong reputation for reliability and quality, this business has been supporting industries such as automotive, power generation, and hydraulics since the 1970s.

They are now looking to bring on board a talented and motivated Manufacturing Engineer to support their ongoing commitment to operational excellence and product innovation.

What You'll Be Doing:
_ Evaluating and improving manufacturing processes through research and process development.
_ Applying knowledge of product design, materials, tooling, fabrication, and assembly methods.
_ Improving efficiency by planning workflow, optimising layout, and managing space requirements.
_ Designing testing procedures to ensure quality in both product and process.
_ Creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process flowcharts.
_ Using quality and efficiency data to analyse trends and drive improvements in throughput and cost.
_ Providing technical support to other departments as needed.
_ Ensuring compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
_ Overseeing equipment maintenance schedules and coordinating repairs.
_ Supporting the development of junior team members and sharing knowledge across the business.

What We're Looking For:
_ Experience in manufacturing engineering, ideally within a mechanical or production-based environment.
_ Familiarity with assembly drawings, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GDT).
_ Hands-on experience with CNC operations (Fanuc or Siemens), including programming, tooling selection, and fixture design.
_ A solid understanding of product development processes and manufacturing methodologies.
_ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
_ Clear and confident communication skills, especially when presenting technical information.
