Summary
Job Summary
We are looking for passionate Science Tutors to join our team of in-person educators in London. You’ll be supporting students from KS3 to A-Level across Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics. The ideal candidates will have strong subject expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to student development—including those with special educational needs.
Tutors will be assigned a primary centre, but must be flexible to work across both Mile End and Ilford locations.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality Science lessons in one or more disciplines (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
Teach students across KS3–KS5, including GCSE and A-Level content
Run regular assessments, including mandatory Assessment Week every 4th week
Prepare and provide cover work when absent
Track and report on student progress
Support learners with diverse academic needs
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment
Keep up with curriculum changes and educational strategies
Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree (or studying for one) in Science, Education, or related discipline
At least GCSE Grade C / 5 in English Language, Maths and Science
A valid DBS certificate is required
A teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE) is desirable (not essential)
Must be available Monday–Sunday
Must be flexible to work in both E3 4TU and E7 9HH centres
Tutoring/teaching experience and SEN familiarity preferred
Previous tutoring or teaching experience essential (1 year minimum)
