What skills and experience we're looking for
Located as part of a Federation within Farnborough, St Patrick’s School is a one form entry primary school with a diverse demographic, committed staff, supportive governors and parents and delightful children who are eager to learn and who take pride in being good ambassadors for our school. We have a Nursery Class which takes children from the age of 2.
Due to the recent leadership restructure across our Federation, the governors are seeking to appoint an exceptional deputy head teacher from January 2026. The successful candidate will support the school on its continued journey of improvement. Our Catholic ethos is valued by children, parents and staff. We are looking for a committed and practising Catholic with a strong personal faith and a clear vision of the distinctive nature of Catholic education.
We are looking for a candidate who:
• is able to sustain and develop the Catholic ethos of the school recognising God in all that we do;
• is an outstanding classroom practitioner with experience across the primary phase;
• has high expectations of achievement and behaviour for all pupils;
• is committed to working in partnership with staff, governors, parents and pupils;
• has excellent management and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, challenge, develop and inspire others;
• has good communication skills and a calm, positive, welcoming manner;
• is committed to safeguarding;
• is a practising Catholic with a clear understanding of and commitment to, Catholic education;
• is motivated to drive improvement and reflective of their own practice.
