Hays Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and high-achieving secondary school in Morpeth to recruit a Teacher of Social Sciences for a full-time role starting as soon as possible and continuing until the end of the autumn term (Christmas 2025).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons in Social Sciences at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5
- Plan, prepare, and assess student work in line with curriculum standards.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Support students in developing critical thinking, analytical, and research skills
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Social Sciences curriculum
✅ Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Specialism in Social Sciences (e.g., Psychology, Sociology, Health & Social Care)
- Experience teaching in UK secondary schools or sixth forms
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply through Hays)
