As a Contract Manager in the Waste and Recycling team at our Richmond-based depot, you’ll lead and manage the performance of an outsourced, local authority contract portfolio. You’ll ensure our community and client receive the highest standards in waste and recycling services.

You’ll be entrusted to:


- Lead, manage, and be responsible for the performance of the contract
- Champion continuous improvement and contract growth processes
- Seek opportunities to increase and introduce new services
- Ensure KPI performance requirements are met
- Drive for change and innovation in the contract to meet future challenges
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders
- Produce management reports and manage staff and equipment
- Oversee the absence and welfare of all employees
- Identify commercial planning requirements and opportunities
- Implement exemplary service standards and monitor service delivery
- Ensure all employees receive the required training and career development plans
- Monitor financial and operational performance to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency


Does this sound like you?

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:


- Experience as a Contract Manager or Operations Manager
- Experience managing a large blue-collar workforce, preferably in Environmental Services or Grounds Maintenance
- Strategic leadership skills and the ability to make sound data-based business decisions
- Experience managing relationships with trade union representatives and Local Authority clients
- Experience in business development, transformation, and project management
- Strong communication skills to inspire and engage others
- A hands-on approach and visibility with the workforce


It’s also desirable
- but not essential
- to hold a Management degree or level 5 qualification, or a Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).Because this is a place for you
