Summary
Job Title: Principal Engineer
Job Type: 12 month contract
Start Date: As soon as possible (subject to clearance)
Salary Range: £65 - £80 (Umbrella) / £42 - £59 (PAYE)
Location: Warrington
Working Arrangement: 3 days on site 2 days from home
Hours of Work: 38 hours per week
Role & Responsibilities:
- Lead multi-discipline engineering teams to deliver technical solutions on time and within scope.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop engineers/technical specialists.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards, codes, and ISO requirements.
- Produce, review, and approve technical outputs (calculations, reports, specifications).
- Manage customer relationships, resolve delivery issues, and support business development.
- Promote engineering best practices and contribute to "Learning from Experience"
- Plan and allocate resources effectively to meet project demands.
Qualifications/Experience Required:
- Degree, HNC or HNC in Electrical Engineering
- Chartered Engineer status (desirable)
- Proven experience leading engineering teams in nuclear/defence/commercial projects.
- Strong background in technical delivery (concept design to EPC).
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder liaison.
- Membership of relevant engineering institute. (Desirable)
- Experience in full project lifecycle (concept to construction).
UK National Security Vetting Status:
Security Clearance Required: SC (Security Clearance) - Must be eligible to obtain/maintain.
